We offer comprehensive information and matching service to individuals interested in volunteering as well as a support and advice service to organisations who involve volunteering. We do this by maintaining a database of opportunities, cross-referenced by activity and issue, or area of work. So, for example, we offer details of all the voluntary opportunities in Office Work, but also list all opportunities with organisations concerned with the environment. We then check out individual choices, availability, skills they have to offer (or hope to gain) and connect them to the appropriate organisation. The other main service we provide is to organisations who work with volunteers. As well as helping to fill their vacancies we can work alongside groups to develop volunteer policies, recruitment strategies and generally share best practice. |
