Training, support, advocacy and volunteering opps SSS Empowers deaf people and facilitates improvement of their quality of life, to become active and participative citizens through trained volunteer befrienders and advocates. SSS builds capacity and facilitates consultation and involvement of deaf people with service providers. SSS works in partnership with service providers to reduce barriers and increase access for deaf people. Deaf & Deafblind Awareness and Communication Tactics training can be delivered to service providers and employers to reduce the social isolation, exclusion and discrimination deaf people experience from the stigma attached to deafness. Sound Sense Solutions provides the following services: - support, information and advocacy services for deaf people - a range of volunteering opportunities - promotion of local research into the needs of deaf people - training provision across a range of deaf subjects - development of social enterprise opportunities - promotion of access to lifelong learning for deaf people and volunteers - enhancing employability opportunities for deaf people and volunteers |
