Young people in Dundee can face what seems like a bewildering range of organisations offering advice and support to help you get into a positive destination after school or college whether it's a job, training or continuing in education and learning.

That is why a wide range of organisations in Dundee have come together under the Dundee Discover Opportunities banner to work together to make it easier for young people in the city to find the information that they are looking for. You can contact any of these organisations direct or through the Discover Opportunities Centre.

Careers Scotland

Careers Scotland is part of Skills Development Scotland, Scotland's new skills body.

Careers Scotland has a clear and simple purpose - to help the people of Scotland secure the jobs of tomorrow.

Careers Scotland delivers high quality career guidance and employability services which support the people of Scotland to:

  • Be better informed, prepared and ready for work in a changing and dynamic labour market.
  • Have the self confidence and motivation to constantly develop their skills and take part in lifelong learning.
  • Make well informed, effective career choices throughout life, beginning with the first step into the world for work.
  • Be equipped with employability skills that meet the needs of employers in order to succeed and progress in the workplace.

Skills Development Scotland

Skills Development Scotland, brings together four partner organisations with a shared vision to drive forward real, positive and sustained change in Scotland's skills performance. Through this merger Scotland now has a dynamic, forward-looking organisation which will deliver comprehensive information, advice and guidance for careers and learning as well as extensive support for skills development.

The partner organisations which are coming together to form Skills Development Scotland are:

  • Key skills elements from Scottish Enterprise
